  1. Hi Kat: What a beautiful home you have--I love the lacy touches, even in the wood, which appears in the mirror frames and thoughout the room--very pretty! And wow--what a project to prune the palm trees--I didn't know they had thorns, but I imagine the leaves are razor-sharp. I once had a huge pampas grass that always cut me to pieces whenever I walked by it, and a friend with a chainsaw came and chopped it down--it filled the back of a pickup truck when we were done. We covered the stump with white vinegar, covered it with black plastic during the summer and let it cook itself to death, then we cut and dug out the stump--it was about a four-foot deep hole. We layered a thick layer of cardboard on the bottom of the area, and built a raised bed with stone walls around it, and I filled it with compost and soil and today it's a rose and perennial bed! (It needs to be reworked yet again, but nothing like the first time!) Good for you for getting out there and using the saw and pruners--you did a great job! I appreciate you stopping by my blog today--you mentioned you might like to follow me, but couldn't find where to do so. You can follow me on Linky if you like--there should be a little Linky box in my sidebar. I've got buttons on the sidebar as well for all the usual places, like facebook, linked in, pinterest, google +, and twitter--take your pick! Take care--we are getting some of your hot weather here in the next day or so--close to 100!
