A day to honor, but really should be everyday! God bless our service Men and Women! They sacrifice everyday so that we may live in Freedom!
When we are enjoying our families, sleeping in our beds, having a nice meal, being with our kids, the little things we take for granted, they are not.
Please keep our military men and women in our thoughts and prayers to return home safe, wherever they may be, as they sacrifice so very much.
This coming Monday is Memorial Day. The above title is a link to infoplease.com, for all the important history about "Decoration Day" currently known as "Memorial Day" in honor of our nation's Military.
"Memorial Day, holiday in the United States observed in late May. Previously designated Decoration Day, it was inaugurated in 1868 by Gen. John A. Logan for the purpose of decorating the graves of Civil War veterans and has since become a day on which all war dead are commemorated."
There are so many beautiful Bronze Artworks in our little city! These Eagles in Flight sit atop a very large rock on the corner of our main highway into town. They are magestic! My camera does them no justice!
The statue is at least 10 feet tall if not taller! Really, I just stood there and stared at it, trying to get the both of them in the picture. When the wind blows, the Eagles turn. When the Sun hits them in a certain way, there are many colors in the Bronze. It is just amazing and so very beautiful! I thought you might enjoy these pictures, With Love, Kat =^.^=
