........can you smell the sea...............

................... hello sunshines! and another week has "bit the dust" wow september already!!!!......this little mirror is something i created this summer..........and i just love it.......so much texture........so many colors.....i never get tired of looking at it............i'm also partial! lol     .....i love shells........all kinds........anytime of the year............they make me smile!...........lots of colors..............and beauty.................mother nature is wonderful isn't she........................i've made several of these throughout the years........

....one was so very large and accomplished on a garage sale find..............a relative wanted it...........it took forever to complete.................it was about the size of a large bathroom mirror...........which is where it ended up! .and .....well................................i never saw it again! :)

 ....hummmmm cheez-its and yuban! yep yuban............my drug of choice!!!!! love it!......as you can see i'm a cheez-it fan too! :) lol...........and omgosh...........the roof of the patio.............so ugly....sorry about that.......................:)....my fall winter project................maybe!!!

.......this was a basic new black mirror........from michaels.................. about 16 x 20........i used e-6000 as the glue....got most of the shells at big lots and i utilized some i already had............and touched up in between the shells with white paint here and there...........

...........i also used clear glass flat marbles.......also from big lots.............as the trim.........and then i painted them to soften them a bit...................i do like the look....its soft.......and oh so shabby...................

 ................love the rustic natural look................................

 ....remember the drapes i (kinda) made for the patio? that is what is piled up there :) oh well.......................i do love how it turned out......it was an easy project and so fun......it would be...fun with the kiddos too.................think i may put this in the guest bathroom......................have a wonderful weekend sunshines !  .......hugs kat  =^.^=

....ok ok.....I've had to become a bit of a detective these past couple of weeks to find out why I am feelin ...............so................bad!....

...well......when the weather went south...........flash flooding..........dark stormy weather...which I absolutely love!!!!..........I opened all the doors and windows and SO enjoyed the day!.........like one of you commented......this type of weather is magical!.....yes I so agree................however........wait...............

........for it............there was also a "pollen alert"....and I have allergies!!!!.......well who knew...............I love the "fresh air" in the house.....a/c off.....just cool fresh air...........but.......I guess all of this "clean" was full of pollen as well............not a fave by my sinuses! yikes!

..........feelin tired.......slow.......a real couch potato!!!!...headache.......and my eyes looked and felt............as my "nana" would have said.............."like two burnt holes in a blanket"...........lol....... I've had a sinus thing going on.......

..................bad hair days....................playin with paper hats.................head hurts too much to read..........whats a girlie to do................

..........finally feelin better today.....thank you Lord!......surfin on Pinterest.......oh my goodness..............belly laughs.....so I know I'm on the uphill swing now..............yea!.........

....Friday already!...what a week!

.....hello and happy Friday Sunshines!......it has certainly been an interesting week here at the cottage.......

......dark clouds....flash floods.......thunder and lightning!....I absolutely love this type of weather......to be home and in and able to watch Mother Nature.................there is just nothing like it!...it cooled down to 70 deg with tons of humidity........I threw open the front and back doors......lucky me!.....and turned the a/c off! ...it was just lovely.......and so peaceful....listening to the rain

......which lasted almost all day!...........I miss the rain..........I'm a California girl and grew up in Los Angeles.......where the rain....the fog...were an everyday occurance.............so this week was a true treat for me.....

.......my computer, however, doesn't like this weather much...so it was turned off for a few days.......

....the sidewalk is disappearing!......:)...check out the wall of water!.....

....then came the dirt! ............
............all in all it was just great and the poor ground did need the water!....the water was gone in a matter of a couple of hours too..........the front and back of the house flooded ...it was awesome!
.....I've been at it in the sewing room all week....seems I'm so slow....but I've got to get it done!....you know how things "fall into place"...you have to move one thing before you can move the other to the correct place! ....slow go for one person!!! :) .......I am loving how it is turning out though ........pics when done......:)

...in the meantime..........snapped a few in my almost completely decorated kitchen!....I have to stand and look to see and change.....so not really done just yet! :) ...........I sure hope you will have a wonderful weekend! I know I will......you will find me....yes.....in the sewing studio!......hugs kat =^.^=

.............working along this weekend in my newly " being re-designed " craft/sewing studio......I also realized that I am somewhat of a magazine freak!......not gonna mention the books.....well...ok I will............book lover .......its a paper thing......i just know it!.......and it apparently runs in the fam! lol

.............I have been going through them........the mags...........tossing and tearing.....................lol....but not the books..............libraries are closing more days than open due to budget cuts.............I feel for those that like to spend time in there.......

......reading.........researching............touching the lovely books................and I dont know about you..............but give me a day in an old smelly book store.........................anytime........its just the smell of history I guess................

...............I grew up in Los Angeles, California...................when I was little...............my friend and I would "walk" to the "library" then get lunch and walk home!................yes in "those" days one could walk all over........................

...........well I would always come home with two or three or whatever I could carry..................hence my love of books.......mostly all books.......actually from the age of five i have just loved books...............yes it is a sickness I guess.............but there is........nothing like a chilly evening...by the fire........

........in your fave library chair.............with a cozy blanket and a cuppa tea.....................and a great book!..or five by your side......................oh the still of the night........................very calming................and peaceful.......................wouldn't you agree......................:)........

.....i will be doing a lot of that this winter for sure.............

....this is just "one" of my bookshelves............lol

.......so today......since i apparently went and "did" way too much moving and shakin in there...this weekend.....(im on a mission!) ............im sitting in the middle of the floor and going through paperwork..........easy does it today for sure............

........as you can see...........the plan is to "drape the bookcases" ...and apparently i am loving a little pink in there so.......I..also ..have my stash of starch for my fabrics...............cannot seem to find the old fashioned "liquid starch"......... though......anyone find it online?.........

.............the "owl" is there in honor of my Mother...........she was always the "wise ol owl".....and loved owls too.......lots of stories about my Mom and the Owl! ........my sis and I talk about the "owl" all the time................:)

......someday i will share some of them.........................so im getting back to it..........had to take a break....................you have a wonderful day!...........hugs =^.^=
