Hello Sunshines, wait till you see! I live in such a lovely and fun fun place! I love it!

I've a surprise, and have been meaning to tell you, along with the other neat neat places and things to do and see here in Boulder City there is another hidden treasure here.

It's called Boulder City Antique Mall and it is located here, on the corner of

just as you arrive in town from Henderson! It will be on your left, a landmark is Taco Bell as it is just across the street left side as well.

Now that the weather is warming up, you can stroll through this place, have lunch across the street, ride the Boulder City Train just up the street with the kiddies then head into town and walk the main street too! After all "A World Away for a Day" is our cities motto! :) I have a lot of fun places to go on my sidebar!

ARRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! me hearties! Ye beta come to the auction! ARRGGGGGG!

I call it a "hidden treasure" because it is just the most fun! Darwin and Judi are the owners, and have been here since about 1991. This building is approximately 10,000 sf, just packed full of whatever you are looking for! Books, dishes, crystals, crystal lamps, records, clothes, tons of unique and antique furniture, chandeliers, doors, windows, mannequins, sewing supplies, all vintage and wonderful!

Do you want a full size Captn Hook? or an Indian? Maybe a GI ready to attack! Great fun! Looking for that special decorator piece? The prices are great, the dealers have a large variety of stuff, my kinda eye candy! LOL  I spend a long time in there reminiscing! The place has a great flow and a wonderful karma so plan to stay a while!

The big surprise is they also have Auctions there, on the last Friday of every month! This is great family fun!

This month of March is special though, as there will be two Auctions; Friday, March 30th at 6:00 pm at the Antique Mall and Saturday, March 31st at 1100 am on site at a home at 788 Fairway Drive here in Boulder City.

Get yourself added to a notification of catalogues, images email list if you send the owner, Darwin, an email requesting   DARWINSAUCTION@COX.NET ; item images are here,  www.auct78.com

If you are in town you can stop by early and view the inventory before the auction starts.  It is a blast! Fun fun fun, just like on TV! Lots of laughter and GREAT items, always!

So if you get a chance, come up for an all day stay, or overnight at the Historic Boulder City Hotel or the Hacienda Casino (about 10 minutes away)  and join in the fun! Last time I heard, you could book for $15.00 a night at the Hacienda via online, I think for multiple days. The food/buffet  is great there, not a smokie casino and very clean!

So without further adieu, here are a bunch more eye candy pictures for you! I will warn you I take tons of pictures! LOL  If you see anything you like, give them a call for pricing, here goes! Enjoy!

This place is really big!

Warning warning tons of pictures! Grab that cuppa-jo! Did I mention this place is pristine clean and so is the merchandise! Crocheted pieces, old and lovely. This beauty of a crystal lamp below is $75.00. There are two of them!

Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooo?goes there!

This lovely sign is just $55.00!

This little guy is a bank! :)

Lots of history here at this place, tons of turquoise jewelry, earrings, necklaces, collector spoons, you name it. Bring your walking shoes!

Ok, how about that WOW factor! Look at this piece at $95.00! It shouts New York loft design as a coffee table! Bring your friends to help you load it! It's a heavy piece and a wonderful authentic piece to recycle into your decor! Nice conversation piece as well!

Well Sunshines, mark your calendars!  I sure hope you enjoyed this tour at this FABULOUS place! I had so much fun visiting with the owners and taking these pictures for you! They are the greatest and I just love them both!  Remember if you see anything you like you can always contact them for more info.

Have a great week! I cannot believe how FAST this first day of daylights saving time went! WOW :) I'm pooped! and OH yeah! the WIND was BACK today with a vengeance! gusts to 39 mph! So yep, I yet again had that wind blown look! LOL hugs, Kat =^.^=

Spring Ahead, Fall Behind

Happy DayLight Savings Time! Remember to change your clocks, we're losin an hour! :( BUT...

Well, it's that time of year again and frankly I am THRILLED! It will stay light outside until about 8:00PM here! Wo Hoo!

Not so thrilling is the loss of one hour of sleep! But Spring/Summer Time is just the best time of year, playing in the dirt, planting color gardens and succulents, new herb gardens, staying up late, being outside for longer periods of time and just enjoying the warm summertime!

I hope you have a great start to the longer days! Hugs Kat =^.^=

Keep Calm and Carry On

Hello Sunshines! I have always wondered about this specific phrase. Where did it come from, what does it mean. Who said it, what is it!

There are so very many versions of this phrase out there in blog land and so many variations to this iconic " WWII English Poster" that I have finally found just a lovely and beautiful video about it and the true story behind not one poster but three.

Tonight I have found a wonderful site here, telling about this story and am adding this interesting video, a piece of history, for your viewing pleasure.

It is truly wonderful in many ways. I am such a lover of books. Here is a link to Barter Books in the UK.

I hope you enjoy this little story and video as much as I have.  Hugs Kat =^.^=

The W word! And I don't mean WOW!

OK, wind wind and more wind, to the tune of 85 mph in Pahrump NV last night! Here in Boulder City I am so sure we got past 50 mph at some point!  CRASH BOOM BANG! Things flew off the roof, off the wall, moved some of the things I had sitting on the side of the garage, I've not seen wind like that in a long time!I am afraid to go out this morning and review! Maybe I will have that OTHER cuppa Jo first! :)

Last night was my Knit n Bitch session at the local Starbucks! I blew into the parking lot, blew inside I do believe it was warmer outside than in! I had that wonderful wind-blown look! Spiked hair standing on end, dirt in the eyeballs, gritty skin, just grand! OK lets knit! Wo Hoooo

Has anyone else noticed that that place is FREEZING in there! I had to leave early, I couldn't feel my legs anymore!  Plus it started raining! OK gotta go! :)

Got up this morning and it is a whole 38 degrees, the weather folks said we could expect a 20 degree drop and they were correct, for once! :)

I finished my project hat at home where it was warm! In the Summer I think we will move locations to an outside eatery, THAT will be fun! The nights here in Boulder City are lovely! Everyone walks and sits outside on our main street. Tons of fun!

Hope you all have a great day, I know I will! Hugs Kat =^.^=

Oatman Arizona!

Good morning Sunshines! I've been a busy gal to say the least lately! And no news is good news they say! (NO Theys! LOL)

I recently took a great trip with family to Oatman, AZ! WHAT A BLAST! If you ever get to Boulder City, NV, please take the time to see Hoover Dam, truly a wonder of the world and so awesome, and travel on to Laughlin, NV, a great, very clean little city with lots to do and see!

Oatman, AZ is not far from there with wild animals, gunfights, and that Ol Western Feel! WOW what fun! We spent most of the day there and walked the street (notice I said street!) and stopped in all the little quaint shops for sure!

I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I had fun taking them! My Sis did all the driving and believe me, she faced her "fears" the back way into Oatman, very curvy roads and thank goodness we didn't meet anyone coming the other way! Talk about narrow! My Sis, Brother in Law and I had a blast to say the least!

He was the front seat back seat driver and I was the official back seat driver laughing all the way there! I will be going back soon, I didn't get to see all of everything and I like to "linger" in interesting places like that! More pictures too!

Enjoy, see you soon Sunshines! Have a great week! Hugs Kat =^.^=

A quick get-a-way is always good for the soul especially with family! We met up in Laughlin and headed out! My Sis brought her "loom" stuff with her so I could show her how to make hats and that was fun!

I left Laughlin about midnight and headed back home, only an hour's drive. SearchLight is a little town you pass through, blink, and you've missed it! It's cute, I will be stopping there to check the place out next trip! Nice roads, cheap gas, great places to see, stuff to do, eaterys! It was great fun!

It was the perfect day, weather was great!

Did I warn ya? I take lots of pictures! I still need to get that fancy smachny digital CANON CAMERA! I love my camera! :) That new one I want is on the TOP O MY WISH LIST!!!!!! I need to get close-ups!!!! :) LOL

They stayed at the AQUARIUS HOTEL, a great clean place, great food, and clean rooms! The view was awesome! They have boat shuttles that take you across the river! We sat in the room and watched the sunset and the boats fly by! What a view! Lots of critters and history in Oatman, walked our legs off! When we got back to Laughlin, we went across the street to the big LAUGHLIN MALL OUTLET there! OH NO JUST STOP ME!  It was a great day indeed!

Here are some pics of up and down the main street in Laughlin NV. We were looking for a place to plop and eat! Long day and ended up back at the Aquarius Resort Casino at the OUTBACK inside the casino, and WOW it was just so good! did I mention it was almost 80 degrees!

Hope you had fun visiting Laughlin NV, and Oatman AZ! So hey! Pack your bags, can you say ROAD TRIP! Get on the road! Summer is a commin! This is fun for the whole family! :)

I'll be back soon with more fabulous news on what's haps in my life lately! VERY EXCITING!
